Get the Good Beer Guide 2027!

Wednesday 21 October 2026

The UK’s definitive guidebook to good pubs that serve real ale across the UK.

Refreshed and updated for its 54th edition, the new GBG is fully revised, featuring over 4,500 recommended pubs across the United Kingdom that serve the best real ale and the facilities available at each venue. These include 50 best pubs in Bedfordshire. Other details include the beers served, food availability, pub gardens, accommodation, family facilities and transport links.

The Guide also features a unique brewery listing covering 1,700 breweries and 5,000 beers, plus information about onsite brewery taprooms to help you track down the freshest possible pints right at source. The Good Beer Guide is completely independent, with listings based entirely on evaluation by CAMRA members. This year’s foreword is written by Sir Ian Rankin. He, and his fictional detective Rebus, both frequent The Oxford Bar, in Edinburgh which is featured on the Guide cover (pictured right).

In 1972, the year after the Campaign was founded, a group of volunteers sat down and compiled a list of 298 pubs where you could still find cask-conditioned beer. The major national brewers were in the middle of a systematic campaign to replace it with pasteurised keg beer which was cheaper to produce. The list was 18 pages long, stapled together and posted to members. It cost 25p.

Fifty-four editions later, nothing about the method has changed. No pub pays to appear. No advertiser influences a listing. Every entry is decided by our members. What you can hold in your hand today is the result of independent recommendations by our members, people who care whether the pint in front of them is kept properly.

>In addition to all of the above, you can enjoy informative features on beer, pubs and brewing by award-winning writers Roger Protz and Adrian Tierney-Jones.
